Support the Quality Excellence Manager of childcare with raising standards, deliverance of the quality, compliance and training plan by way of providing learning and professional development of the group’s workforce. 

Work together with the Quality Excellence and People Development Managers to decide on the group’s training requirements and equip colleagues with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks

Key involvement with development and successful implementation of childcare related projects to deliver quality and regulatory objectives

Maintain a sound understanding of the sector and deliver continuous improvement 

Occasionally represent the Midcounties Co-operative and the childcare group within the sector and be a role model within Team Midcounties by visibly demonstrating behaviours aligned with our values.
Key Responsibilities
•Ensure that nurseries comply with the obligations placed upon them through statutory regulations and our own policies and procedures

•Together with the Area Manager and management teams, effectively safeguard all statutory compliance with EYFS and Ofsted regulations and deliver improved targeted results for audits and Ofsted inspections through internal quality audit programmes and subsequent feedback, training and development

•Undertake regular visits and have responsibility for up-to 10 core nurseries. Will be occasionally required to deliver training nationally in nurseries / venues outside of your assigned region  - this may require staying away from home for short periods of time

•Deliver/attend meetings and courses outside of nursery operating hours

•Work with both senior and management teams to lead on the safeguarding agenda, ensuring all policies and procedures comply with existing legislation whilst providing a safe and secure environment for all children, parents and colleagues 

•As required by the Quality Excellence Manager and People Development Manager to write, deliver and manage a range of training packages setting the highest standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five

•Develop strategies to assist the Nursery Managers and respective colleagues in identifying and tackling issues for themselves, thus avoiding excessive dependency on Quality Training Advisors 

•To ensure any specialised training received is disseminated to the nurseries under their responsibility and embedded into the practice of all colleagues

•Effectively manage and report upon projects assigned by the Quality Excellence Manager as appropriate

•Through delivering workshops, webinar modules, First Aid training and other training events, develop colleague learning and understanding -– focusing on the needs and highlighting/developing strengths of colleagues to support and extend children’s learning and development

•Deliver both Manager and colleague inductions

•Deliver tailored workshops to support Nursery Management teams to achieve the next Ofsted Grade at least one above that currently in place; or to maintain Outstanding

•Work with childcare teams to achieve development plans, to contribute to self-reflection and continual development of nursery settings, produce action plans and support the nursery teams to update them regularly

•Have sound knowledge of childcare systems such as iConnect

•Communicate effectively with the Area Manager and Nursery Managers to identify areas for support resulting from nursery audits. 

•Support colleagues to progress children’s learning and development – focusing on using observations to assess and understand children’s learning and development, both in the home  and the setting, and translating observations of children at play into an assessment of each child’s progress to help support them further

•Support the nursery management team to secure high quality environments for learning and development – focusing on the enabling environment (including the three prime areas), which promotes children’s well-being, nurtures children and fosters positive relationships between children parents and adults, and where children are valued for their uniqueness and individuality

•Have sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and be able to confidently identify signs of possible abuse or neglect. Support colleagues to respond and report if necessary, all concerns in a timely and appropriate way 

•Use interpersonal skills in order to develop professional and collaborative relationships across the Society

•Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work

•Follow Society procedures at all times, whilst offering any innovative views and ideas so that we constantly review our service for any opportunity to improve

•In addition, all QTA’s are expected to work within the terms of their contract of employment and adhere to Society policies

•Current driving licence
