One of our lovely clients have a vacancy for a Nursery Room leader/Third in charge role. This Nursery is in the locality of Morden and is close to all major transportation links. This phenomenal nursery are looking for a permanent member of staff to work 44 hours per week.

Overall Responsibilities

  • To assist in ensuring that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • To assist the manager in ensuring that all legislation in relation to registration with regulatory bodies, special needs, safeguarding and Health and Safety is complied with.
  • To lead, mentor and manage team members to ensure they are meeting the requirements and ethos of The Group.
  • In the absence of the Manager / Deputy as 3rd in Charge you may be required to open/close the nursery and assist the Manager / Deputy in the day to day running of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities

  • To have a sound knowledge of the Safeguarding responsibilities and procedures to follow, to have a sound knowledge of prevent duty and FGM
  • To adhere to all company policies
  • To assist the Management in carrying out supervisions and performance management reviews for your team members.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by Management or CEO.
  • Use the computer effectively for storing information through the nursery software system.
  • Attend Senior Meetings as required by the company.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate would hold a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience in a full day care setting for children aged up to 5
  • Hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification or higher
  • Paediatric first aid certificate
  • Food Handling and Hygiene certificate 
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety and childrens development
  • A sound knowledge of Safeguarding procedures, prevent duty and FGM

Skills and abilities

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies
  • The ability to use computers and software packages
  • The ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload accordingly.
