Bretsa Early years are working closely with as well established Nursery School looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and creative Early Years School Manager to work in a unique setting in Hammersmith.
The School is a French pre-school regulated by both Ofsted and the French Ministry of Education. This is an exciting opportunity, which will allow you to be involved in a dynamic international environment. You will be expected to work alongside the owner and the head teacher, who is responsible for the French Curriculum and the French Regulator, in the day to day running of the setting. With a four class rooms and a capacity of 76 children, from the ages of 2 years up to 6 years, the school prepares children, mainly from French speaking backgrounds, to enter the French Lycée or local prep schools.
The salary is from £27,000 to £35,000 per year
This is full time position based on 40 hours a week 8:00 am to 4:00 pm shift from Monday to Friday
The main responsibilities are:
• Lead a team of 14 staff members
• Lead on the observation, assessment and planning cycle, whilst also leading on weekly staff meetings
• Take joint responsibility alongside the Head Teacher for drawing up long term, medium term and short term plans
• To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
• Lead in continuous quality improvement within the setting
• Act as a mentor and role model to all staff, while also disseminating good practice to all
• Oversee the implementation systems of observation and record keeping are kept up to date and regular high quality assessments are made
• Oversee the key person system
• Undertake a termly training needs analysis for all staff
• Prepare for Ofsted inspections, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and reviewed
• Develop a sound self-evaluation process
• To effectively lead and manage the staff team including recruitment and retention, providing day to day guidance, training and support to all staff
• To ensure all policies, procedures and curriculums are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
• To effectively manage the budgets and occupancy levels
• Create strong links with parents.
• Providing Parents with the information, support and communication that is required
• Keep up-to-date with innovative ideas and trends for child care.
• Rigorously carrying out safeguarding procedures, communicating promptly with the safeguarding team
• Carrying out statutory 2 year old checks and sharing relevant information about the child’s development with parents/carers and other professionals, and planning next steps together.
• Completing the Early Years Profile if necessary, ensuring that information is passed on to the child’s next setting/ school
• Supporting key children and their parents/carers through transitions e,g., settling into the setting, or moving on to another setting/school
This position requires the individual to be willing to undergo a check with the disclosure and baring service (DBS) (formerly CRB).
